Truseal Envirosealed Windows
Oct. 1, 2009, Solon, Ohio – Through its new Envirosealed Windows Advantage program, Truseal Technologies, Inc. makes it easier for window producers to manufacture energy-efficient windows.

Truseal’s program gives manufacturers choices among pre-certified packages that exceed Energy Star 2010 and Reinvestment Act 30/30 tax credit requirements.

Through the program, producers are able to economically create windows with ratings as high as R-6 (0.17 U-value), 50 per cent better than Energy Star 2010.

The program ensures high-energy-efficiency based on the combination of three primary window components: the spacer, the glass and the frame.

“By themselves, each component – the spacer, the glass and the frame – adds efficiency to any window. But when these thermally-efficient components are combined, they make Envirosealed Windows Advantage the most efficient on the market,” said Gus Coppola, president of Truseal.

The Spacer – Truseal’s Duralite spacers have the lowest thermal conductivity of available spacers. The no-metal spacer system uses a polycarbonate structure in place of conductive metal components to help prevent the transfer of heat. Duralite provides the lowest Uvalue rating and warmest edge of glass temperature with the best condensation resistance of any spacer system.

The Glass – The new Envirolite program offers combinations of triple- or double-pane glass, low-E coatings and argon gas filling. The pre-selected combinations are already modeled to help manufacturers achieve U-value targets without wasting resources on unnecessary modeling. Envirolite offers a range of U-value results as low as 0.17 (R-6) and a variety of glass options.

The Frame – EnergyCore by Mikron is an insulated frame system that delivers superior thermal performance. Frame components are tri-extruded with a unique, integral air cell insulated core designed to create a superior thermal barrier to save energy costs. The frame material is 100 per cent recyclable.
