Diversity on display
The AIA (American Institute of Architects) national convention and design exposition takes place at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco, CA., from April 30 to May 2.

The exposition brings together more than 24,000 architects and building industry professionals.

This year's convention theme, The Power of Diversity: Practice in a Complex World, will feature continuing education sessions and professional tours highlighting topics such as globalization of practice, new values in design, the reassertion of the architect’s role in society, sustainability, and the resulting new values in design.

The expo showcases the latest design and industry products and services including architectural fabric, doors and windows, metal, presentation and restoration, and sustainable and universal design.

Organizers say there are 500 program offerings in workshops, seminars, tours and there will more than 800 exhibitors displaying new products and technologies in five product pavilions.
