CRL acquires Key Control Specialists
Mar. 5, 2010 – C.R. Laurence has announced the acquisition of Key Control Specialists, also known as KCS.



JELD-WEN is U.S. ENERGY STAR Partner of Year
Mar. 3, 2010 – The U.S. Environmental ProtectionAgency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy has named JELD-WEN Windows and Doors a 2010 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about the benefits of energy efficiency. JELD-WEN Canada received the ENERGY STAR Participant of the Year award from Natural Resources in May 2009. This is the first time a manufacturer has been recognized by ENERGY STAR in Canada and the U.S. concurrently.



NFRC welcomes new employees and announces promotions
Feb. 25, 2010 – The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) recently welcomed Anita Marsh and Robin Merrifield to its staff. Marsh is NFRC’s new Manager, Member Relations, and Merrifield joined the staff as its Documents Coordinator.



Glasslam files complaint against Edgetech, two industry groups
Feb. 18, 2010 – Nebula Glass International, which does business as Glasslam, has filed a formal complaint of anti-competitive and illegal practices with the Federal Trade Commission of the United States. The complaint has been filed against Edgetech IG., the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), and the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA).



New digital communicators from CRL
Thru-Glass To-Way digital communicatorsFeb. 12, 2010 – According to CRL, the company’s new Thru-Glass Two-Way Digital Electronic Communicators contain the latest advancements in electronic sound transmission devices.  Standard units fit barriers from ¼” (6 mm) to 4” (102 mm) thick, and bullet resistant models are available up to Level 3.



KML Windows closing London operation
Jan. 25, 2010 – KML Windows, a local manufacturer of custom-made windows and doors used to enhance the design of commercial buildings, is closing its London plant on Buchanan Crt., off Pond Mills Rd., and consolidating in Strathroy.

Atrium reaches agreement on restructuring plan
Jan. 20, 2010 – Atrium Companies, Inc. has announced that it has reached agreement with more than two-thirds of its senior secured lenders on a plan to reduce the company’s outstanding debt by more than $350 million, or more than 50 percent of its existing debt, through a “pre-negotiated” restructuring of its balance sheet.
