Cordless oscillating power tool from Fein

EcoEnergy reaches 250,000 homes, shuts down early
Jan. 30, 2012 - Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver closed the popular EcoEnergy Retrofit - Homes program to any new registrants on Jan. 29, saying it had reached its goal of 250,000 registered homeowners. The sudden closing of the program comes two months before its official end date on March 31, 2012.

Ducana closes Tilbury plant
ducanaJan. 4, 2012 - Employees of a Tilbury, Ont.,-based window and door manufacturer ended 2011 on a sour note with notice they have lost their jobs. Chris George, who has worked for Ducana Windows and Doors as a sales representative for the past five years said the "official word came on Saturday afternoon, via e-mail from the owner." The reason given, he said, was poor sales. George, who helped open Ducana's Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont., location, said the company said "absolutely nothing" about what was going on. | READ MORE



AAMA updates storm door standards
Jan. 2, 2012 - The American Architectural Manufacturers Association has revised two specifications related to secondary storm products: AAMA 1002-11, "Voluntary Specification for Secondary Storm Products for Windows and Sliding Glass Doors," and AAMA 1102-11, "Voluntary Specification for Side-Hinged Secondary Storm Doors."



Gienow reaches out to customers
Dec. 16, 2011 - Chaordix, a crowdsourced market intelligence company, has announced the launch of Gienow Pulse, a project leveraging collaboration between Gienow Windows and Doors and its customers. Gienow is a leading Canadian manufacturer and supplier of high performance window and door products to builders, renovation contractors, specialty retailers, and homeowners in western Canada.
