AGC Flat Glass idling West Virginia plant
Jan. 28, 2009 – AGC Flat Glass North America is halting production at its West Virginia glass factory, idling 180 of the plant’s 240 employees indefinitely due to slow business conditions.


PPG Industries may cut 4,500 jobs
Jan. 28, 2009 – PPG Industries Inc. may cut as many as 4,500 employees later this year due to the worldwide economic downturn, particularly weak global demand from automakers and homebuilders, CEO Charles E. Bunch told Bloomberg News today.
